1. Who we are

Side Hustle Coach ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal data you provide when using this website and app. You can contact us at privacy@sidehustlecoach.app.

2. What we collect

• Account data: email address, name and password hash (via our authentication provider).
• Profile data: answers you give in the quiz — skills, interests, time, budget, income goal, assets, constraints and preferences.
• Structured profile: if you choose to upload or paste a CV, we extract structured fields (skills, experience, tools). We do not store the raw CV.
• Activity data: hustles you save, check-ins, roadmap progress and community posts.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited.
• Payment data: handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card details.

3. How we use it

• To generate your personalised hustle recommendations and roadmap.
• To improve the product and develop new features.
• To send service emails (account, billing, important updates).
• To prevent fraud and enforce our Terms.

4. Raw CV handling

If you paste or upload a CV, it is sent to our AI provider solely to extract a structured profile. The raw CV is not saved to our servers. Only the structured profile fields (which you review and edit) are saved, and only if you consent.

5. Legal basis

We process your data under the following lawful bases (UK GDPR Art. 6):

• Contract: to provide the service you signed up for.
• Consent: for optional things like marketing emails and storing your structured profile.
• Legitimate interests: to keep the service secure and improve it.

6. Sharing

We share data with carefully chosen processors:

• Hosting & database (within the EU/UK or with adequate safeguards).
• AI provider (to generate recommendations and process CVs).
• Payment processor (to take payment).
• Email provider (for transactional emails).

We never sell your personal data.

7. Retention

We keep account and profile data while your account is active. You can delete your structured profile at any time from Settings, and you can request full account deletion by emailing us.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these, email privacy@sidehustlecoach.app. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

9. International transfers

Where data is processed outside the UK, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. If we make material changes we will notify you by email or in-app.
